A Christian teacher in Wales who voiced his beliefs about traditional marriage during a staff training event has been sacked.

Teacher Ben Dybowski was dismissed even though he was told it was a ‘safe space’ and was encouraged to speak freely.

The incident happened during a question and answer session at The Bishop of Llandaff Church in Wales School in Cardiff.

Dybowski asked if his beliefs – that marriage is between a man and a woman and that life begins at conception – were considered discriminatory.

He lost his job the very next day. Dybowski called his dismissal an attack on Christianity and ‘an affront to freedom of speech and freedom of thought’.
