People around the world have expressed their sorrow and concern that a young Spanish woman felt so unhappy that she sought – and was permitted – to die by euthanasia.
Following a protracted court battle, in which her father aimed to prevent her from ending her own life, Noelia Castillo Ramos, a 25-year-old woman from Barcelona, Spain, was administered the deadly drugs.
News of the case broke on the morning of Thursday 26 March, as it was featured on Spanish TV programme Y Ahora Sonsoles, and the story went viral on all social media platforms.
