St Paul’s Cathedral has entered a four-year partnership with London nightclub Fabric to host contemporary music events inside the historic cathedral until 2030.
The first event is due to take place on 29 October, but the agreement has attracted criticism from those who argue that a place of Christian worship should not be used as a nightclub-style entertainment venue.
Peregrine Hood, president of the Nelson Society and a descendant of Admiral Horatio Nelson, who is buried in the cathedral, asked, ‘Is nothing sacred any more?’
