The Christian Race (and other sermons)

New words from an elderly gentleman? Here is a collection of J. C. Ryle’s sermons selected by one of his colleagues and published in 1900 to mark Ryle’s retirement from the office of Bishop of Liverpool. The choice is not random but sequential, covering basic doctrines from ‘sin’ to ‘heaven’. The book forms a threesome with the already published volumes Holiness and Old Paths; in fact, there is one repeat and one similar sermon in The Christian Race from each of the other volumes.
