We often say ‘the Grace’ together at the end of a service, and although we may sincerely mean each word we say, it can become formulaic. This book unpacks for us the profound meaning of each of the three blessings and reminds us that ‘without the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we would be dead in transgressions and sins … without the love of God we would have no salvation and no Saviour … and without the fellowship of the Holy Spirit we would have no living experience of God’.
Noting that the author of the book was Derek Prime, I eagerly anticipated heart-warming exposition and solid nourishment and was not disappointed. A book about the Trinity might seem heavy going but this devotional gem has a light touch while teaching profound truth on every page.
I found the section on the Holy Spirit particularly helpful, and the author himself in the concluding chapter emphasises the Spirit’s unique ministry.
The fifteen chapters are short, and ideal for reading and meditating on one chapter a day in personal devotions.
