As Editor of Evangelical Times, you’ll know I tend towards writing about cultural analysis and current affairs, and how those issues affect evangelicals. Those questions matter. They are often where the rubber hits the road for churches and individual Christians, as we seek to live faithfully in an increasingly hostile culture. God willing, I shall continue to write boldly on those subjects.
But I also know many readers particularly value articles that dig deeply into Scripture and theology. We do not simply need better political analysis; we need minds shaped by God’s truth. Our greatest need is not to understand Westminster, but to understand the Word of God. That is why I am delighted to welcome two outstanding new regular columnists to write for Evangelical Times.
Dr Donald John MacLean is President and Professor of Historical and Systematic Theology at Westminster Seminary UK. He is the author of All Things Are Ready and regularly preaches at Cambridge Presbyterian Church.
Dr Robert Strivens joins us after many years of faithful pastoral ministry. Robert is Director of the Reformed Baptist Study Centre, recently retired as pastor of Bradford-on-Avon Baptist Church in Wiltshire, and formerly served as Principal of London Seminary.
Both men combine theological depth with a pastor’s heart. Their articles will help us think more biblically, worship more faithfully and serve Christ more effectively.
