Reports that more than 300 parents have been sent for so-called 're-education' since Wales outlawed smacking in 2022 should trouble anyone who cares about children, families, and the proper limits of the state. This is not the mark of a compassionate society. It is the symptom of a bureaucracy that has lost its mind.
