Christian advocacy groups have called on churches across the world to pray for and support Chinese Christians, after the Chinese new year started with intensifying persecution against believers.

China Aid and Release International (RI) have both warned of escalating acts of aggression from the communist Chinese government against churches and Christian rights groups in the country and in Hong Kong.

Chinese children and their parents are being forced to sign a document declaring publicly that they renounce Christianity.

Schoolchildren are being made to declare whether they are Christians, and those who admit their faith are required by the Communist Party to sign a declaration that they will renounce Christianity.

If you want to go to church on Sunday, you have to upload your ID, work address, and private information into a smart religion app.
