February 2014

An American county executive was sworn in using an iPad application after officials could not find a hard copy of the Bible.

According to US news website Newsday, Republican Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano was sworn in for his second term using an iPad and Bible app when officials were unable to locate a physical copy of the Bible.

He was addressing an audience at Bethpage High School, where he graduated in 1980, before whom Mr Mangano took the oath of office on the tablet, although it is not known which version of the Bible was used for the app.
