On Sunday 24 March, French campaign group ‘La Manif pour Tous’ held a demonstration in Trafalgar Square in London against same-sex marriage.
The UK-based French marriage supporters have been garnering support on both sides of the Channel to combat laws that seek to redefine marriage. The French government, just like the British government, is trying to push through legislation that will allow homosexuals to be married.
The event was timed to take place simultaneously with a mass demonstration in Paris, where 2 million people were expected to march along the Champs-Elysees. In January, more than 1 million people rallied in France in support of traditional marriage.
