Northern Training – on the move

The theological training course begun as Northern Cornhill several years ago under the direction of Hugh Palmer in Sheffield will now be moving to Leeds. It will have a new name but the same aim – to equip people for effective Bible ministry for the 21st century.

Yorkshire Training will come under the umbrella of the Yorkshire Gospel Partnership and will be meeting once a week at City Evangelical Church, Leeds. The course director is Melvin Tinker of St John’s, Newland, in Hull, with Mike Wildsmith of City Evangelical Church and Tim Davies of Christ Church Central as associate directors.

The course covers a wide range of topics – biblical and systematic theology, principles of Bible exposition, practical ministry including church planting; and a new stream entitled ‘biographical theology’, where key doctrines are grasped and applied in an inspiring way through the lives of individuals such as Martin Luther.

This course will be ideal for all church workers and a great refresher for pastors. More information from: Melvin Tinker, St John’s Vicarage, Clough Road, Hull; or the web site of Yorkshire Gospel Partnership.
