Labour’s loopy ‘no loopholes’ policy

We should be careful about getting too worked up about any politician’s speech at a party conference. Such speeches tend to be bombastic and grandiose affairs aimed at energising the party faithful, and rarely reflect the political realities of life. Nevertheless, the speech by Anneliese Dodds to the recent Labour Party conference is one to take note of. Her party’s commitment to a ‘no loopholes’ ban on conversion practices is deeply troubling.
