‘Must read’ books…

The Apostle John was banished to the Island of Patmos…  He had many memories of Jesus some of which he had committed to writing in his gospel. We know that he wrote at least one scroll while on the island. We do not know whether he was allowed to take any scrolls with him.

The Swiss family Robinson seemed to have nearly everything that might possibly be useful as castaways…I cannot remember if they recovered any books from the wreck!

Castaways on the BBC desert island discs are allowed one book in addition to the compulsory Bible and works of Shakespeare.
