Uganda: Humanitarian disaster unfolding, MAF warns

Support for 1.5 million refugees in Uganda is expected to run out in the next few weeks, the country director of Mission Aviation Fellowship in Uganda has warned.

Ruth Jack, who heads up the humanitarian air service in Uganda, has revealed that the critical funding pipeline for the UNHCR and World Food Programme (WFP) to assist refugees in Uganda is set to come to end by September 2023.

She said much of the usual funding has been diverted to Ukraine and the humanitarian crisis in Syria and Turkey after the earthquake.
